OMHS Girls JV Soccer Beats Meade

The girls JV team squared off against Meade on the Bermuda at Old Mill Senior High on September 27th earning a 3 – 0 win against the visiting Mustangs.  The Meade girls presented a big and physical presence on the field and played with intensity and speed to a stalemate for most of the game.  The first two goals were actually corner kicks, perfectly placed to the back post of the goal and virtually unplayable for the talented Mustang keeper. The stout Patriots defense against executed perfectly in defense of their keepers Jessie Gaurin and Abby Single.

OMHS Girls JV Soccer Ties Annapolis

The girls played well against a talented and very athletic Annapolis squad at the Old Mill field yesterday, resulting in a 2 – 2 tie at the end of regulation play.  The two teams played a physical contest with Old Mill establishing a 2 – 0 advantage in the early play. Late in the second half the Panthers were able to move the ball in for two long shots that just passed the outstretched hands of keeper Abby Single. In the end it was clear that this was a battle between two well-matched foes with the result being a clear depiction of the game itself.

OMHS Girls JV Soccer Beats Northeast

The Girls JV soccer team rebounded with an emphatic 6 – 1 victory over the visiting Northeast Eagles on 9/20 after their tightly contested loss to the Severna Park Falcons the previous night.  Shrugging off the loss and fatigue from the previous night the girls put on a dominant performance even though they were playing without a couple of girls called up to play varsity.

OMHS Girls JV Soccer suffers loss to Severna Park

The Girls JV Soccer team faced a powerful nemesis in the Severna Park team on September 19th at Severna Park High.  The game was tightly contested and the score was 1 – 0 in favor of the home team Falcons at the half.  The Old Mill girls faced a spirited offensive attack and withstood the early charge with a stout defense. The Patriots would later score in the second half on a break away goal by Bridgett Smith. The game was furiously staged by both teams until the final minutes when a break away goal by a Falcon player on Patriots keeper Abby Single brought the game to the final score of 3 – 1.

On September 13th the Old Mill Girls JV soccer team won a hard fought 2 – 0 victory over the visiting Southern Bulldog squad.
